Combining deep emotionality with rational and psychological control of the piano, Lithuanian pianist Jonas Šopa thrills European audiences with sensitive and soul-lifting programmes. After one year of Erasmus studies at the prestigious Hanover School of Music, Theatre and Media in the class of Prof. Ewa Kupiec, Jonas is currently pursuing his Bachelor's degree at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in the class of Prof. Jurgis Karnavičius. Since 2009 Jonas has been awarded laureate and various prizes in more than ten competitions in Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, Austria and France, he was a laureate of the Klaipėda Piano Masters Academies in 2017-2019, a 2018 scholarship holder of the Feuerwerk Einbeck Academy, and was supported by the Copenhagen International Academy in 2017-2018 and the Ballerup Sct. Jacob Rotary Clubs. Constantly expanding his horizons and seeking inspiration, Jonas also has a great love and passion for acoustic sound engineering, cinematography, and portrait and art photography, with a strong focus on the work of women photographers and the photographic traditions of the early 20th century.
